Celts in the Kremlin

Celts in the Kremlin
Frank McGuire of Lyra Celtica received a signed delivery package last week and felt a few moments of trepidation in case it was something he wished he hadn't signed for..

He took and felt the package and recognised it had a Kremlin feel about it. At this point a lesser person might have thrown away the package in fear of espionage. But Frank had nothing to hide and opened up his VIP invitation to
visit the Kremlin on 14th September where President Putin will be present.

He is a guest of honour for his services in promoting Scottish culture in Russia, and Russian culture in Scotland. Frank opened the first bhodruan school in Russia at the Moscow Caledonian School.
The first ever Russian Zoria, a tattoo modelled on the Edinburgh Tattoo will be performed in Red Square and Frank will be in attendance at the Kremlin in September along with the Ghurkas, The Black Watch, The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards, the Pipes and Drums of the Highlanders and the Lowlanders, 16 pipe bands in all.

If you don't get to see the Tattoo, you can listen to Franks percussion work in a new 9 part BBC TV series called" Oran Na Mna" ( Gaelic for A Woman's Song ) along with Maggie MacInnes and many more of Scotlands' finest traditional musicians.

Lyra Celtica will be at the M19 club in Levenshulme Manchester Sunday 21st October late afternoon......for radio interviews and performing around 5pm in the Acousticfest showcase which is a fringe event of the In The City music conference held in Manchester that weekend.
